(堀口 一郎博士 Horiguchi Ichirō Hakase?) is a space archaeologist who has become famous for his scientific studies. His analysis of some ancient crystals lead him to discovering the secret of the GranSazers, the ChouSeiShin, and the GranSazers War. Many have sought this knowledge. His assistant, Mika, was awakened as Sazer-Mithras. Her new partners, Ken and Tenma, were awakened as GranSazers later. He guides the Sazers by giving them information and leads.
At first Wind Tribe was out of his control, since he led all the others. Finally Wind Tribe realized that they were deceived by Karin, and came in the side of Professor Horiguchi to fight the evil Karin and to join the other GranSazers. In addition, Professor Horiguchi was depended on Atsushi Misonogi as he was the only one paid for Professor Horiguchi's research.
Professor Horiguchi was also shown on Sazer-X the Movie, when Tendou Mio from Sazer-X worked with him. He took along the Crystal Slab to react to get the GranSazers back to fight against the most destructive aliens in the universe known as Bosquito. He tried to assemble all the warriors (includes GranSazers, JustiRisers and Sazer-X]] to save the Earth.
